“I will give you a new heart and put a new spirit in you…” — Ezekiel 36:26
God doesn’t just improve behavior—He transforms hearts. A heart of stone resists change; a heart of flesh responds to God.
The Lord tells His people through Ezekiel that by His grace they will be made right. He hasn’t given up on them; they haven’t strayed too far. How many times in our life we make poor choices, failure in relationships or made others turn away from us?
When you are in such a situation, you can  pray that God would replace your heart of stone for a heart of flesh. It could take a long time. Forgiving someone can take time and multiple attempts in order for it to sink all the way through. Replacing our hearts and making us children of God is a process.
But, God promises that it does happen. He will remove the heart of stone and replace it with a heart of flesh, full of compassion, love, forgiveness, peace, and encouragement each time you pray through this scripture. Realizing that a heart transplant is the first step towards the right direction.
Transformation begins inside, quietly and gently. God reshapes us not by force, but by love.
If you desire change, trust that God is already at work within you.
Heavenly Father, Lord, give me a new heart and renew my spirit. Transform me from within. Help your people to be more loving, more compassionate, more merciful, more forgiving, and more encouraging. Take away our hearts of stone and give us a new spirit, a new heart of love.
In Jesus’ name, Amen.
